Electromagnetic waves, optics, and molecular chemistry are just a few of the core topics that can be incorporated into the high school science curriculum by exploring the atmosphere and the universe with lessons focused around the research specialties at Haystack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.haystack.mit.edu\/haystack-public-outreach\/k-12-lesson-plans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>lesson plans<\/strong><\/a><\/span> presented were developed by teachers, with the assistance of the staff at MIT\/Haystack. These lessons have been prepared with specific attention to the goals and objectives of science curricula. The development of these educational materials at the Haystack Observatory was funded by the National Science Foundation under the Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Small Radio Telescope (SRT)<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Small Radio Telescope (SRT) was developed by Haystack Observatory to serve as an educational tool for schools, colleges and universities for teaching astronomy and radio technology.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.haystack.mit.edu\/srt-the-small-radio-telescope-for-education\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"365\" height=\"337\" src=\"https:\/\/alphonsedevasia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-19.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-172\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alphonsedevasia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-19.png 365w, https:\/\/alphonsedevasia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-19-300x277.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 365px) 100vw, 365px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.haystack.mit.edu\/srt-the-small-radio-telescope-for-education\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\">Small Radio Telescope<\/span><\/a>(SRT)&nbsp;plans and manuals are available for educators and students.&nbsp; SRT is designed by&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.haystack.mit.edu\/researcher\/alan-e-e-rogers\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\">Dr. Alan Rogers<\/span><\/a>&nbsp;of Haystack Observatory.
