The project aims to bring a number of literacy strands together to create a support system that enables every child to become a strong, confident reader.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/reacheveryreader.gse.harvard.edu\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"206\" src=\"https:\/\/alphonsedevasia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-23.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alphonsedevasia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-23.png 800w, https:\/\/alphonsedevasia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-23-300x77.png 300w, https:\/\/alphonsedevasia.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-23-768x198.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The work focuses on adult capacity building strand, helping parents and teachers of pre-readers understand what they can do, and what they are already doing, to build a strong literacy foundation in their children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Overview of Reach Every Reader\" width=\"810\" height=\"456\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/FbREAFZXje0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Reach Every Reader is designing technology-supported experiences that bring adults and children together to enrich their book reading experiences and everyday conversations with practices like dialogic reading, future talk, and other conversational approaches that research has shown contribute to early literacy skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They have built, tested, and validated <a href=\"https:\/\/reacheveryreader.gse.harvard.edu\/our-tools\/pre-k-and-home-apps\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\">t<\/span><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/reacheveryreader.gse.harvard.edu\/our-tools\/pre-k-and-home-apps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\">hree apps<\/span> t<\/a>o promote pre-literacy skills through dialogue and playful interactions between children and parents\/caregivers.&nbsp; These apps were developed in collaboration with FableVision and GBH and released by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gse.harvard.edu\/apps\/early-literacy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Harvard Graduate School of Education<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Animal Antics<\/li><li>Photo Play<\/li><li>Small Wonders<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Download apps at<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In the App Store: <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/animal-antics-for-families\/id1560679413\">Animal Antics<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/photo-play-for-families\/id1560679751\">Photo Play<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/nl\/app\/small-wonders-for-families\/id1557771417?l=en\">Small Wonders<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/developer?id=Harvard+Graduate+School+of+Education\">In Google Play<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/qmi-fcrr.shinyapps.io\/CBMatHome\/\">CBM at Home<\/a> designed to help parents and educators understand a child\u2019s risk for developing reading difficulties in the future is also available.
